Alien Pond
Alien Pond is the first of the Mother's Love trilogy by Richard Lobinske. The genesis was from an idea developed by Lawndale Stalker and put up for adoption.
Summary
Two years after graduating from Raft, a heartbroken Daria Morgendorffer retreats to her new Montana cabin to find a 21st Century Walden. When a small spacecraft crashes in the pond behind the cabin, she finds herself the adoptive mother of three alien children (Autumnblossom, Eveningsky and Truemind) until a rescue can arrive in a year. Children who are heirs to an interstellar empire. Alone, with only a monthly visit from a local officer, Deputy O'Neal, and email contact with Jane Lane and Helen Morgendorffer, she struggles to raise them in secret, in spite of grizzly bears, Sick, Sad World reporters, and alien rebels. Finally, Daria must find a way to deal with their final metamorphosis, which requires a host for them to complete. If an alternative can't be found, Daria may become that host.
