Inside the Tower is a book written by Sherrie Klein under the pen name K. M. Sherrie Written at some time after Klein left government service, and with the express permission of the Legion and the United States Government, Inside the Tower is a comprehensive examination of the overall effects of how the world reacted to the revelation of metahumanity (due to the rescue mission undertaken by the Legion, which was viewed by the entire world and could not possibly be kept secret), and how the Legion in general operated in the worlds before and after their exposure to public scrutiny.

Inside the Tower is considered a superior psychological evaluation into the personalities of the Legionnaires, many of the other metahumans and metahuman groups extant at the time of the Legion's birth and exposure to the world, and the way that all of the above developed among the the first wave of Earth's publicly-known superheroes.

Since its publication, Inside the Tower has been on the USAES mandatory reading list for all Cadets First and Second Year.

All USAES First Academy cadets considering entrance into the Elite Academy must submit an oral presentation on any subject from the text as part of their entrance packet. (Cadets are also allowed to use subjects from Chapter Number One or The Collected Diaries of Anastasia Rowe, Legionnaire.) This presentation must be delivered before a full USAES Faculty and Cadet Representative Advisory Committee (and is considered by cadets to be the real-life version of the Kobayashi Maru scenario). Favored topics include Class Five psionics (and the four known USAES students in that category that were of the same age as Daria Morgendorffer), the male members of the Legion (pre-revelation), the infamous 'Legion vs. Alliance' battle, and the airline flight where the three charter Legionnaires saved Russell Stark from an assassination attempt (an event which has gained the same level of historical note as the Kennedy assassination, and is one of the three most requested topics for presentations).
