Mallory Dean

First seen in the Daylight shared-worlds setting, Mallory Dean is a character in the fic Baked Alaska. She is a Commander in the United States Coast Guard, and a graduate of the United States Academy of Extranormal Studies, where she was a member of the Phantom Eagles, and recieved a double major in mathematics and oceanography (with a minor in comparative theologies). She was also a well-known (and feared) billards player around the Academy and in the neighboring city of Evansville, Indiana.

She is the former Executive Officer of USCGC Centralia, which sank in the Gulf of Alaska as a result of damage sustained during Zero Hour.

At the end of Baked Alaska, Mallory is now a Lieutenant Colonel with the newly-constituted United States Military Command, and preparing her charges for rescue.

Metahuman abilities

Mallory possesses several metahuman abilities related to her senses. These include:

• Telescopic and microscopic vision
• Thermal vision
• Energy/Magic/Power Detection (through sight only)
• Penetration vision (cannot see through lead)
• Light projection (includes lasers and light-generation from eyes)
• Cryonic vision (can either lower temperature or create ice)+
• Optic blasts (beams that deliver concussive force)+
• Enhanced and protected senses (all five senses)
• a metahuman affinity for mathematics (particularly geometry)

Mallory in the LLH universe

In the Legion of Lawndale Heroes universe, Mallory was seen in the LLH 'Mini' A Day at the Races, where she attended a running of the Kentucky Derby. Mallory is shown as a Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard, and mentions that she has been transferred to Alaska, where she will assumed command of the USCG cutter Centralia.
