The Hindenburg
From DariaWiki
The LZ 129 Hindenburg was a German commercial passenger-carrying rigid airship, the lead ship and namesake of the Hindenburg class of airships. The airship flew from March 1936 until destroyed by fire 14 months later on May 6, 1937. Thirty-six people died in the accident, which occurred while landing at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Manchester Township, New Jersey.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown still, though there is no question that the fact that the airship was inflated with cheap but extremely flammable hydrogen rather than non-flammable helium was a huge contributing factor. Critiquing this sort of obvious oversight seems to fit right in with Daria's philosophy of pointing out the very obvious but generally ignored.
