The Tempest is a post-canon story by E. A. Smith, written in first-person from Daria's perspective.
Plot

The story takes place during Christmas the year Daria has left for Raft College. Daria returns to spend a few days and is informed that aunt Rita is also spending the Holiday with the Morgendorffers, to the considerable distress of her, Quinn and Jake. Daria and Quinn team up to keep the peace between Helen and Rita, and to calm down Jake, but are unable to avoid several small argumends and a large fight that eventually leads to Jake's fatal heart attack.
